Residential Single-Family and Multi-Family Rebates
View rebates for water efficient equipment and fixtures. Residential outdoor landscaping through the Inland Empire Utilities Agency are also available. Funding is limited and rebates will be issued on a first come, first served basis only.
Rebates are a cost-effective way for residents to save water and money! By working with our regional partners, multiple rebates opportunities are available for residents to take advantage of. More details on the available rebate programs are listed below. Residents are encouraged to apply for these rebates through a quick and easy application process. High-Efficiency Clothes Washer Rebate
While funding lasts, Chino Hills’ residents can now get up to a $210 rebate for purchasing a qualified high efficiency clothes washer! The previous rebate was only $160.

Turf Removal Rebate
All pending applications submitted before June 1, 2022, will automatically have their deadlines extended through November 1, 2022. After June 1, 2022, all new applications will be granted a one-year deadline to complete their project, starting from receipt of the MWD application pre-approval.
The Metropolitan Water District's Turf Removal Rebate is Back!
You may be eligible to receive a rebate of up to $2 per square foot for removing turf on your property. The goal of this rebate is to reduce your outdoor water consumption and runoff. A landscape design is required to participate in the Turf Removal Rebate. Interested customers can choose to design the landscape themselves or hire a contractor.
Residents must meet these minimum requirements to get started:
- Remove a minimum of 250 square feet, and a maximum of 5,000 square feet of turf from front, back, or side yard(s)
- Secure approval prior to any turf removal
- Use of artificial turf is not allowed as part of this rebate

Commercial Rebates
There are rebates available for Commercial, Industrial, and Institutional (CII) customers for water efficient fixtures and equipment for both indoor use and outdoor landscaping through the Inland Empire Utilities Agency. Funding is limited and rebates will be issued on a first come, first served basis only.
AQMD Lawn Mover Rebate
Chino Hills customers can take advantage of the South Coast Air Quality Management District's year-round program that allows customers to purchase new electric lawn mowers.
The rebate program will allow Chino Hills customers to turn in their old gasoline lawn mower and receive a rebate based on the purchase price of a new battery operated electric lawn mower. The Electric Lawn Mower Rebate Program will be implemented on a first-come, first-served basis and will provide up to $250 towards the cost of the battery electric lawn mower. The electric lawn mower purchased must be new, not used or previously owned, or factory reconditioned.

Water Softener Rebate
Automatic water softeners leave a salty waste that harms our recycled ground water recharge. In effort to ensure our community has a reliable water source for the future, you may be eligible for a rebate of up to $2000 for removal of a water softener.
