Water Conservation Design-a-Sign Contest


Photo of Poster Grade 1 31st place Alice DiepThe City of Chino Hills holds an annual Water Conservation Design-a-Sign Contest for students in grades kindergarten-12 who live or attend school in Chino Hills. Winning posters are made into street signs and displayed at the city hall round-a-bout before they are permanently installed throughout the City. Winners from each grade will be recognized at the May City Council meeting where they will receive their awards and prizes.

Contest Information:

  • Entries are due by 4:00 pm on Friday, March 19, 2021. 
  • Submit a .jpeg or .pdf photo of the artwork. 

2021 Design-a-Sign Contest Application 

Contest Rules:

  • Theme: "Every Drop Counts!" must be written on each entry. Judges will be looking for the posters in each category that best express the theme.
  • Poster size must be 12 inches wide by 18 inches high white poster paper.
  • Artwork must be 10 inches wide by 16 inches high.
  • Posters must have a one-inch border on all four sides.
  • Only posters drawn vertically will be accepted (horizontal posters cannot be made into a street sign).
  • Must use hand-applied mediums like pens, crayons, paint, pencils, etc.
  • Artwork must be original work by student. No computer generated, trademarked, or copyrighted material will be eligible.
  • Posters that do not meet the above criteria will not be eligible.
  • Winning entries must submit original artwork.
