Neighborhood Cleanup Day - April 24

Neighborhood Cleanup - Newsflash

The City of Chino Hills invites residents to participate in a communitywide Neighborhood Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 24 from 8:00 am – 11:00 am in conjunction with worldwide Earth Day and Arbor Day.

This event was initiated by Mayor Brian Johsz, who wanted to give residents an opportunity to make a difference in our City by being a part of neighborhood beautification, clean and healthy living, and protecting our environment for both wildlife and people.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the day with their own family and household members by cleaning up litter and debris along their own neighborhood sidewalks, trails, open spaces, and parks. The event is free and registered households will receive a free cleaning supply kit including trash bags, disposable gloves, trash picker, hand sanitizer, and water. Cleaning supply kits can be picked up in advance on Thursday, April 22 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm or on the day of the event on Saturday, April 24 from 8:00 am – 11:00 am at the Chino Hills Community Center or Pinehurst Park

Residents can dispose of their filled trash bags in their own trash receptacles, as long as they fit in their trash cans. Extra bags of trash should not be placed at the curb, only inside personal trash cans. Participants can also dispose of trash bags at designated drop-off locations on the day of the event. Only trash collected as part of the cleanup event will be accepted at the drop-off locations. A list of drop-off locations will be sent with registration confirmation. If bulky or large items are found in public spaces during the cleanup hours, please contact the Chino Hills Community Center at (909) 364-2826.

For more information and to register your household for the event, please visit www.chinohills.org/NeighborhoodCleanup or contact Chino Hills Community Services at (909) 364-2700.

The City of Chino Hills remains committed to the health and wellness of all residents and City Staff. Residents are encouraged to participate in this community event by focusing cleanup efforts in their individual neighborhoods with household members and following the recommended precautions to stop the spread of COVID-19. These include maintaining physical distance of at least six feet from non-household members, wearing face coverings over the mouth and nose for everyone two years Oh of age or older, and hand washing or sanitizing frequently.
