The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is beginning work on a $4.2 million slab replacement project on State Route 71 (SR-71) in and near Chino and Chino Hills. The project will take place along SR-71 from the LA / San Bernardino County line near State Route 60 to just south of the Santa Ana Riverbed near the 71/91 connector.
Caltrans is implementing 55-hour weekend closures on August 6 and August 13 to perform the slab replacements along the two-lane corridor on both the northbound and southbound SR-71. Plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid delays.
Weekday hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am nightly.
The project is expected to be complete in the late Fall of 2021. Schedules can change due to inclement weather.
