Bulky Item Drop-OffPhoto of Mattresses at Bulky Item Drop Off

Held twice a year, this free community event allows Chino Hills residents to dispose of large, unwanted household items that are too big for curbside collection. Items being accepted at the drop-off event include air conditioners, appliances, barbecues/patio furniture, box springs and mattresses, bundled branches, chairs/couches/tables, electronic waste (e-waste), and unbagged green waste. Vehicles are limited to cars, pickup trucks, station wagons, vans, and SUVs. Company vehicles will be turned away. Proof of residency is required. Additional event details, including specific date and hours, will be provided in advance of the event.

Document ShreddingPhoto of shredded documents

The City of Chino Hills hosts a free document shredding event for residents to securely dispose of confidential, personal documents. Held twice a year, the event runs from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., or until the shredding trucks reach capacity. Each household may bring up to four standard-size file boxes of paper. Proof of Chino Hills residency (such as a driver’s license or utility bill) is required. Items such as binders, plastics, clips, CDs, and DVDs are not accepted. In addition to the City’s event, residents are allowed to participate in the two other free shredding events offered annually by San Bernardino County Supervisor Curt Hagman.

Free Mulch and Compost

The City of Chino Hills offers free mulch, wood chips, and compost to residents in partnership with Waste Management. The events are first-come, first-served from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or while supplies last. Residents must bring their own containers or bags and proof of residency. Up to 60 gallons of each material are available per household.
