The City of Chino Hills is working to return unclaimed property owed to businesses or individuals who have uncashed checks issued by the City. A list of unclaimed property is updated monthly at www.chinohills.org/UnclaimedProperty and includes checks that are stale-dated or returned to the City as unable to locate.
The City of Chino Hills makes every effort to return funds to their rightful owners. Unclaimed property is held by the City for three years, and individual letters are sent to notify individuals or businesses that are owed a refund. The deadline to file a claim for funds more than three years old is November 26, 2025. After this date, unclaimed funds will become the property of the City in accordance with the State of California Government Code.
How to Check for and Claim Unclaimed Funds:
- Visit www.chinohills.org/UnclaimedProperty
- Review the list of unclaimed property
- If your name or business appears on the list, download and complete the Claim Reimbursement Form
- Submit the completed form with proof of identification by mail, in person, or by email
