The application deadline is May 5th for high school students who would like to gain some interesting experience as a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission. The Commission includes a non-voting student member who must be a Chino Hills resident attending high school on a full-time basis. The student must be a junior or senior during the 2008/2009 school year and must be in good academic standing. The Parks and Recreation Commission meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. to review and discuss items relating to parks, recreation, trails, community events, wildlife preservation, and programs. Commissioners also work with community sports organizations and provide input to the design of park and recreation facilities. Mayor Curt Hagman will interview applicants and recommend an appointment to the City Council. The new member will serve through April 2009. Applications are available at City Hall, 2001 Grand Avenue or in the document center on the City’s website at www.chinohills.org. The deadline to submit completed applications has been extended until Monday, May 5th.
