About Public Works
The Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining the City's core infrastructure and ensuring reliable delivery of essential services. This includes operation of the City's water and sewer utilities, water quality programs, maintenance of streets, vehicles, public facilities, and the City's 44 parks, 48 miles of trails, and over 3,000 acres of open space. The department also manages the City's Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and Land Development projects.
What We Do
Under the direction of the Public Works Director, the Department oversees the City's water and wastewater systems, street and storm drainage infrastructure, public buildings, vehicles, parks, open spaces, and community facilities. The Department also manages long-term capital projects, environmental compliance programs, and provides engineering services to support development and ensure public safety.
The Public Works Department consists of nine divisions:
